Blood Donation Drive

If you are a blood donor, you are a HERO to someone somewhere, who received your gracious gift of life.

Despite being a country with a population of 1.2 billion, India faces a blood shortage of 3 million units. The problem can be addressed if an additional two percent of Indians donated blood, health experts say. Thus Club Jagriti decided to take up the initiative to spread awareness on this cardinal issue and also galvanize the IMI family into playing a small yet significant role in noble initiative. Jagiti, in association with rotary club, Vaishali, organised a blood donation drive on 6th of October 2016, where people of various age groups, from students to faculty members and staff, appeared in an overwhelming number to donate their blood.

The event began at 12pm with the rotary club members setting the rooms and other facilities. The students were first tested under the supervision of credible doctors and then the eligible mass was privileged to donate blood and perhaps save someone’s life. The event closed at 7pm with many enthusiastic students willing to donate blood after their long hours of classes.

Club Jagriti was extremely proud of being successful in carrying this drive to remind people of the requirements of donating their blood and to bring out many heroes from our IMI family.
